PocketCodr Features

No-code Configuration for IO-Link Sensors in the Palm of Your Hand. Learn here about how PocketCodr can simplify your sensor configuration experience. Use the full spectrum of Smart Sensors and IO-Link sensors without the headache of technical manuals. Let's unlock the smart sensor revolution!

Short Profile

After sucessful connection between your phone, your PocketCodr device and your sensor, view here the basic information of your sensor. Your sensor's IODD file will be loaded automatically when publicly available.

Status Indicators

See here immediately which features are active on your sensor. View in real time the sensor behavior and indicators of key process parameters. Tap on variables to make them appear in the Live Chart.

Live Data Chart

View here the real time switching behavior of your sensor. Add more variables on the chart by tapping on them. View and verifiy specific sensor logic chains. Great tool for debugging applications!

View all Sensor Data

Click on the All Values Action Widget and see here the entire IODD file of your sensor, arranged neatly by section. To change a parameter, tap on the line and a new menu will show all possible change options. (Note: this requires the purchase of the Configure Plan)

Save Favorites

Tap on your most used parameters and save them in your Favorites bar on top of the file. It will make your programming sequence faster and more convenient.

Manual Configuration

Use the View All widget to configure manually the parameters and sequences you wish. Parameters that are configurable will open to a new screen. Use the search field to find parameters swiftly. (Note: saving individual parameters requires the purchase of the Configure Plan)

Action Widgets

Action Widgets guide users through key configuration processes, such as teaching a switching set-point, configuring sensor outputs or setting up an alarm threshold by following the simple graphical step-by-step flow. Use advanced sensor features without the hassle of reading pages of IO-Link handbooks.

Available Widgets

Action Widgets guide users through key configuration processes, such as teaching a detection set-point, configuring sensor outputs or setting up an alarm threshold. Action Widgets are step-by-step guides to setting up advanced sensor configurations – something that previously required significant technical know-how

Example - Teach

Ever had problems with switch-points that vary between replacement sensors? With the Teach Action Widget, you teach the sensor switch-point digitally using a graphical interface. Start by installing the sensor in its working application and then connect it to the PocketCodr. Align your target [in the switching position] and follow the Teach Action Widget’s instructions; a few simple steps later, the sensor switch-point is set

Example - Alarm

Use the smart capabilities of your sensors to keep an eye on your process quality. Use the Configure Alarm Action Widget to select the alarm type, then use the simple graphical interface to set the threshold level. Don’t forget to assign an output channel to your alarm! For some Smart Sensors, you can set up up to three alarms (brand dependant).

List of Action Widgets

Availbility of Action Widgets depend on the type of sensor and sensor brand. Please learn more about availability and comptability of each widget by reading the legend.

View All * / **

This Action Widget displays all the parameters and data from your sensor's IODD file in an intuitve and graphical way. Navigate through the parameters and variables. Save your most uses variables as Favorites. Click on a parameter to read it out and configure it. Please activate a Configure Plan to change the sensor parameters.

Digital Teach **

Ever had problems with switch-points that vary between replacement sensors? With the Teach Action Widget, you teach the sensor switch-point digitally using a graphical interface. You may also use the physical TEACH button on the PocketCodr device. Use this easy widget to configure single point or window mode switching with ease!

Configure Switch Points **

Select between Single-Point Switching, Two-Point Switching or Window-Mode Switching. Enter the switch-point values manually, visually or by pressing the «Teach» button on the PocketCodr device.

Configure Outputs **

Select how the sensor output should be delivered and in what format. You can use the output for transmitting distance-measurement information, a switching signal, or an alarm signal. Mixing and matching your settings is also possible, depending how you want to use the output.

Configure Timer **

Set a timer for stretching or delaying the sensor’s switching response. Use Set Timer to visualize and set the additional time that you wish to add and save the setting on the device itself. Smart Sensors may also allow you to set a stretch- or delay-timer for other events like alarms or counters.

Configure Alarms **

Use the smart capabilities of your sensors to monitor your process quality; Define the conditions that trigger an alarm. Depending on the type of sensor you are using, including set up distance-measurement alarms, counter alarms, temperature alarms and more.

Set Counter **

Send additional signals when a set number of events has occurred. Set up optimal IIoT routines for preventive maintenance or use-based maintenance. Using a smart sensor’s second output enables these cost-saving functions in additional to routine switching signals.

Library * / **

Shortcut to your configuration library. Save here your configurations, name them so that you can remember for which application they are. Share configurations and receive configurations here too.
